How to fix the "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method" screen.

None of this works. I got through the account recovery and I get this:

"It looks like you just used the Microsoft account recovery form (https://account.live.com/acsr?mkt=en-US) to request a password reset for [the email im trying to access]. Because you've turned on two-step verification for your account, we ignore these requests but wanted to let you know.

I put in the code from my secondary email and it wants me to put in a text code after. It won't send a code to my phone, or it says it's not working, or I can't even get through the robot verification because it locks up and won't load the next page.

I don't understand why the code from my email won't work.

If I do get to resetting my password, I put in a new one and then it says it timed out.

This is ENTIRELY a software issue on YOUR end. I have access to both my phone AND my email for the 2 step verification - but it won't work on your end.

This email is one that's about 20 years old, I have EVERYTHING linked to it from my Steam account to my Unreal account which I use for game development, you are literally going to screw my entire career as a game dev if I don't get access to my account.

PLEASE GET SOME CODERS TO SORT THIS SITUATION - IT IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

None of this has worked for me. I am trying to recover a hotmail account which is locked and just going round in circles. The text message won't come through but then it won't give me an alternative way. I can't contact Microsoft. I have done the recovery form which said it has been verified. I click the link and it then says I've requested too many codes but this was the first request in over 24 hours. Even when I get past that it then said I need to request a text and again it then says this method isn't working right now and right back round again. I really need access to this email address especially at this time of year. I have cleared cache/cookies, I have done incognito mode, I have done this on Microsoft edge and Google Chrome. I am running out of options and really don't know where to turn to next. The self help won't work on the microsoft page, it just says checking and the little circle goes round and round. What else can I do?

This exact thing happened to me when I tried to redeem my Microsoft rewards. When I tried to redeem the points it said that I need to have a phone number as an alias but it said that verification method isn’t worth no right now. What do I do?

You can talk there with real person and this might help you better,

they told me it can take up to 3 days to get response from somebody higher but I think that we have better chance to

solve it like that

I will try to post an update if they fixed it for me

update: After more than week It finally works even they didn't tell me that it should work but Ive kept trying every day at least once

So it might be because of them , or it just fixed itself somehow
