2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) error (0x80070643) a known issue?

Haha, just spent hours trying to resolve this issue then came here to see it is not just me! MS as usual. As an IT Pro, everything was tested before deployment first otherwise we got all sorts of **** sent our way.

Oh and even when I worked for a huge International company with preferential MS accounts, we would experience issues like this!

Seems to be the way of the world nowadays!

Oh well, we will all have to wait until they fix it, might be today, maybe tomorrow, next week, next year or maybe it will be withdrawn! :-p

I tried many ways to install it but it seems impossible to do so

I usually don't receive the cumulative update until the morning after patch Tuesday. I turned my laptop on this morning, made my morning cup of coffee, and did a few other things. By the time I was finished, I checked and the cumulative update had installed and was ready for me to restart my laptop.

It took a little longer than usual (about 20 minutes) and then I was on my desktop as usual. I figure that it included some updates to make Windows 10 more secure among other things.

I don't know how many people that come to this community forum, but I thought I would give this valuable information/tip which might just save you from receiving those errors.

An MVP friend gave me this tip several years ago and it had to do with registry cleaners. I made the mistake of using a very popular one once. It was around 2009. The registry cleaner got rid of important files, and I no longer had volume/sound or a mouse. I had to power off and quickly push on F4 or F12 (I can't remember which) where it would bring up the screen that could correct those issues.

I've never used a registry cleaner since then, and I don't have any problems with the cumulative updates either. My friend told me that a registry cleaner could cause all kinds of problems and might even introduce a malware onto your operating system. You also don't save much space by using one either.

What I'm going to share is from Wikipedia and it's about registry cleaners. If you don't want your operating system to mess up, then don't use them. Period.

Not really, not unless you go into some part of Window's programming to turn off update checks. I know there has to be a way for it; But I'm not totally sure I'd look online for some work a rounds or turning off windows defender and just getting a trust worthy third party defender installed.

That is what, I'm thinking of doing for my laptop it would be easier and less of a hassle worrying about updates wise. Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely would keep windows defender running for stuff for your computer. Like stuff that your computer needs to work windows.

But when you get stuff like this; That are clearly mistakes on Windows end. Just looks bad, I hope they can fix it soon. I shouldn't have to reinstall windows just to get one update to work.

If anyone hears anything or finds out they fixed it let me know.
