I use windows 11 23h2 this happened after the latest update, and happens at shutdown.
sfc /scannow, ran it three times. I do not know what to place on the command line to run
DISM. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth does NOT WORK. I am frustrated, and nerves are getting bad.
I am NEW to windows 11 and just installed it on my High End Gaming Computer. I am frustrated, after gaming, seeing this
when I shut down.
I NEED HELP NOW please.
I cannot run DISM, till I get the correct command line sequence.
Thanks.

No, GameInput Service is a triggered service from Microsoft. Triggered by running a game I'm assuming. The default setting is not running, manual (Triggered). As soon as you run a game it begins running, and stays on until you exit Windows. Likely XBOX related, as in game pass which I do not have. It has no effect on my XBOX controller. keyboard or mouse on any of my games, with or without Steam, or Epic Games, or Ubisoft, or Rockstar launchers running or not. Everything works normally, and no error message on logout, reboot or shutdown. I do not have a steering wheel or any other peripherals to try.
I'm really surprised by that. My computer works perfectly normal now regardless what I run, or have plugged in.
Game input, would that be steam games App?
No?
Controller Perhaps, like Game Input Device?
Just guessing.
This happens loads of times when I exit Steam App from Gaming.
The Jury is still out, on his one.
I do use a gaming device like Sterring Wheel Pedals Controller.
Maybe unplug it before exiting Steam App?
Just guessing again.
I will try that too today, see what happens.
Mine just came back last night, like a lost friend coming home.
(Sigh)
I thought it was gone.
