Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

This is a real nuisance, I nearly got to the stage of resetting my computer, thinking a piece of malware was stopping my security updates.

There is a tool (wushowhide) that will enable you to hide a specific update (this problematic one is kb5034441)

Go see Where do I find wushowhide? found it - Microsoft Community

Do as it says in this article and this update will be hidden from Windows Update (it can easily be unhidden in due course using this same tool)

I used this tool and was then once again able to download and install updates (exluding this errant update)

It's about time MIcrosoft fixed this, it's been a number of weeks now

Same here, unfortunately. I've read that the best course is to pause updates until a solution comes out.

Just starting to look after running updates on four. Thanks for that info that finishes my early morning research on this problem. Business as usual for me. I don't allow automatic updates. Now pausing updates on all computers for another month or so. Maybe the wizards will have it sorted by then.

This fix didn't work for me. Everything was fine until 'format quick fs=ntfs label="Windows RE tools"'. This encountered an error "The parameter is incorrect. See the System Event Log for more information.". I checked the System Event Log, but there was not even a mention of the error. I should point out that this is an MBR disk.
