Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

I work in a university with many operating sistems. The most used is Windows 10 and still some machines works with W7 until this year we gonna update to W10. In our experience, jump the problematic versions of windows saves money and time for the IT department. We go from 98, to 2000 and XP, then pass to W7 and we still are in W10. We run out from vista and W8 for our mental health. W11 is a transition windows, so we wait to W12 to do the update, but after W12 has a year of life we gonna make the update, every new windows has a insane cycle of updates the first months of life.

Your right, and that is what so many will do. However, you must have a PC that will run Win 11. There are millions that will not run it due to the TMP 2.0 issue.

To keep these dinosaurs going, and keep people from going broke, Microsoft is allowing support for another year. There is a lot of crappola to put up with.

After a long battle and search for a answer finally the update installation works. The solution always was rezize the recovery partition. But after make the thask several times whithout success and trayed in a lot of different pcs and notebooks, the problem was that windows is very tricky with the recovery partition, and afther resize the partition sometimes disable the recovery function and the famouse KB5034441 does't work and fail. The solution was resize the partition from a usb boot, several times I try from diskpart and Minitool Partition, but something doesn't like a Windows and disabled the recovery function. I have a boot usb with ventoy (https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html), the most easy way to make a booteable pendrive that have many ISOs. Whith this tool I made the milagrous and resize the partition without any Windows complain. It's sad that we have to do so many IT things for a update that suppose must works flawless and transparent for any users withoun our intervention. The main problem is that a installation from 0 in a 240GB SSD (the most common size) make a windows recovery partition with insuficient space for the KB5034441 update. And the iso of windows 10 that I used is maded by media creator in february 2024.

But, sadly, even if the recovery partition is the last partition, and even if you successfully increase the size of the recovery partition (in my case, to just under 1Gb), the Windows update can still fail. As many people have discovered, there is obviously some other magic ingredient that is required in order for the Windows update to be successful - increased recovery partition size is not the sole requirement.

Well, that’s my plan. i have a 2017 Dell PC with Win 10; so, when MS retires Win10 in 10/2025, i will replace my PC. By then, new PC’s will be equipped with Win12. This update is useless, don’t bother with it. As long as you have the 22H2 update installed then your Windows is golden.
