This was very helpful for me and it worked on the old PC on which I tried it. I did have to adjust the Recovery Partition number as I had an extra Partition for some unknown reason, but it wasn't hard to understand the intent of your directions and adjust accordingly. I wasn't sure that my disk was MBR, but the Recovery Partition id=27, so I assumed it was.
My only other computer withthis problem has an SSD. I had seen some posts that seemed to say that those may involve additional issues, so I have not attempted to fix it. On it, I turned off bit locker, and may just wait until I upgrade to Windows 11.
