Sadly, this didn't work for me in Dec 2020.
Windows Live Mail stopped working after last Windows 10 update
Since the last update of Windows 10, when I open Windows Live Mail every message produces "Message cannot be displayed." I tried running the "repair" utility, but nothing changed. Is this a widespread issue? I really liked Live Mail and had a lot of messages saved that I can no longer access. HELP!

2020-12-31T17:47:46+00:00 How do you create them. I did the search but they weren't there
HI MJoy94 - If you go to Page 7 of this discussion, you'll find my (RBrown51) post from December 8th and immediately after it the reply from MikeBrecher. My post includes the instructions from Louis, and Mike's reply filled in the blanks, so to speak. I don't recall the specific steps, but between the two of them I was able to restore WLM and have since been a very happy and grateful camper.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows Live Mail
I cannot see 'Windows Live Mail' there - what do I do?

2020-12-28T19:19:32+00:00 I have uninstalled and reinstalled Calendar and Mail, but to no avail. So, the best thing is, ignore Mail from Windows 10 and use the Outlook website, or Gmail website or whatever mail service website there is.
Pity, it was useful to have everything on the same machine, when no internet for example, to read stuff from Mail....
