Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) memory leakage in Windows 10 (Version 2004).

The infamous dwm.exe hogging lots of memory. FYI this is not a specific program issue. It just happens with any programs, activities randomly.

I'm getting really tired of killing dwm.exe every so often so that it will release the occupied memory. When is this going to be fixed? Is this ever going to be fixed even?

    Intel is saying that they are aware of this issue and are tracking it internally. They are asking for memory dumps of dwm.exe to help them with debugging. So if you want to help, see this message for details:

    Very funny. Just no. Totally no. Just no...

    claimed the culprit seems to be one of the last Intel drivers too next to bugs in DWM on itsone. So it might be a mix in both of them.

    Yes, that is plausible. Since hardware accelerated video decoding may be a cause of it. Though I had no issues on VLC/Chrome video playback (since my usage is less than an hour per session)

    There's also a trick to restart Intel graphics card, if it's not working well. You can use Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to restart the integrated graphics driver or at least refresh DWM (from what I roughly know).

    I just noticed yesterday my dwm.exe was suddenly at around 3,5GB when I opened task manager, after my laptop grow more and more slower:

    I googled and found this "old" post. So whats going on? I was blaming latest Chrome 89 for this but also maybe last Intel GPU driver I installed 2 weeks ago.

    This issue for me just started to happen a few days ago, mostl after latest Chrome 89, last Windows 10 update last week, or last Intel GPU driver update 2 weeks ago.

    I have a Dell XPS 15 9570, last Windows 10 stable.

    I am NOT on a fast/slow preview ring! I am using stable Windows 10 20H2 1904.867
