Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) memory leakage in Windows 10 (Version 2004).

The infamous dwm.exe hogging lots of memory. FYI this is not a specific program issue. It just happens with any programs, activities randomly.

I'm getting really tired of killing dwm.exe every so often so that it will release the occupied memory. When is this going to be fixed? Is this ever going to be fixed even?

Hello, does Windows 11 solve this problem if I try to install from scratch?

As of now, I have observed that DWM is not having memory leak issue. Running good within 200MB or lower.

This is tested along with the sleep/wake cycle and also hybrid shutdown, on top of running with video streaming.

I see a few people mentioning integrated graphics with Intel. However, I think the problem is actually in general with dwm. I've seen this leak for over a year now which can only be fixed via restarting despite using the latest Nvidia drivers using an RTX 1080.

with intel dwm memory leak it is enough just to logout/login.. no need to restart windows
