Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 support multiple monitors?

For example, one monitor for instruments, another for front view, one for left, and one for right?

This is opposed to one view being spread over two monitors.

You can span the display using Nvidia's Surround, which is part of the Nvidia control panel. 

There is something similar to this if you are using an AMD video card.

At present, FS2020 DOES NOT allow you to open new additional windows for separate instruments, views, etc., like it did in FSX.

Hopefully Microsoft will address this in the future, and make this benefit available, ... although I doubt it, because the software is designed to mainly run under an XBOX single window environment (using either a PC as in XBOX Beta for PC or on an XBOX console.)

I'm currently running FS2020 using three screens with a resolution of 5760 x 1200, and FS2020 runs fine across these three monitors which are in Nvidia's Surround (so it looks like one big, very wide screen monitor.) And this works great, EXCEPT it would be nice to be able to open up another window for just the instruments, like I could do under FSX. 

One of the trade-offs, of going with the much, much, much more advanced FS2020 software.

    I tried doing an alt+tab to try and place the FS2020 into a 'windowed' mode rather then the full screen, but that didn't work on my Surround setup (it just stayed in full screen mode.) 

    So if anyone figures out how to open multiple FS2020 windows for things like instruments or other external views, etc, etc. let us know as I'm sure there's a heck of a lot of simmers out there that used this feature in FSX and would love to be able to do this in FS2020.

    Im still on the second fligth only, but i have two monitors and i learned that any window that pops up on main windows, you can click on one of the buttons at rigth top corner and place them on the second monitor. 

    Instrumentes i still dont know.

    Your post also saved me a lot of trouble.

    I appreciate your offer to guide me.

    I have four monitors,

    a 65" Ultra-HD (which I could run in 1920 x 1080),

    a 24" 1920 x 1080 (below the 65"), and

    two Sony HS94P monitors which are 1280 x 1024. These two are the left and right side views that I used with FSX.

    Thus, I cannot use the NVidea Surround feature at this time.

    But, I could get two more 1920 x 1080 monitors.

    I am using, at this time, two NVidea GTX1060 graphics card with 3 GB of memory each. I know that these are not state-of-the-art.

    I currently have two monitors on each of the GTX1060's

    I may purchase the next NVidea graphics card when it comes out. Some have made comments that the RTX 2080 will be replaced soon.

    My CPU is a Xeon E5-1607 V2 running at 3.00 GHz, with 28 GB of ram, using a Samsung 850 Pro SSD (256 GB), but I could add another SSD or a larger one. This is in a HP z420 PC. This CPU has only 4 cores.

    I expect to switch to a HPz820 with two Xeon processors tonight. This has, as I understand it, 32 cores, with 16 cores in each Xeon. This computer has more memory, I think it is 56 GB. I also believe that this computer has two NVidea graphics cards, but I do not remember which ones.

    The reason that I do not know all of the details as these systems are being provided by a very good friend.

    Dan,

    If you are using an Nvidia card, and have NVidia's control panel installed, then its pretty easy to setup a multiple monitor surround, which then gives you a combined one monitor. The monitors being used MUST BE of the same size and the same resolution, and should have the same refresh rate or be able to match each other's refresh rates. They do not have to be the same exact make and model from any particular manufacturer. 

    Keep in mind what the maximum resolutions are that are supported by your graphics card. So your Surround resolution will be the width resolution x's the number of monitors you are joining together. For example, for three 24" 1920x1200 monitors, combined under Surround, would be a combined maximum resolution of 5760x1200. So once setup, your system would see it as you are using one large, very wide, 5760x1200 monitor.

    When you setup Nvidia's Surround, it takes some fine tuning to get it perfect, like the line syncing between the monitors and the placement and order of the monitors, etc. but its pretty straight forward and easy to do. And once its setup, you'll have lots of screen real estate to use!
