Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 support multiple monitors?

For example, one monitor for instruments, another for front view, one for left, and one for right?

This is opposed to one view being spread over two monitors.

You can span the display using Nvidia's Surround, which is part of the Nvidia control panel.

There is something similar to this if you are using an AMD video card.

At present, FS2020 DOES NOT allow you to open new additional windows for separate instruments, views, etc., like it did in FSX.

Hopefully Microsoft will address this in the future, and make this benefit available, ... although I doubt it, because the software is designed to mainly run under an XBOX single window environment (using either a PC as in XBOX Beta for PC or on an XBOX console.)

I'm currently running FS2020 using three screens with a resolution of 5760 x 1200, and FS2020 runs fine across these three monitors which are in Nvidia's Surround (so it looks like one big, very wide screen monitor.) And this works great, EXCEPT it would be nice to be able to open up another window for just the instruments, like I could do under FSX.

One of the trade-offs, of going with the much, much, much more advanced FS2020 software.

I found a YouTube Video where MSFS community manager Jayne asks top community questions to:

Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator and

Sebastian Wloch, C.E.O. of Asobo Studio.

This video was posted on September 30, 2020.

At 17:20, they discuss Multiple Monitor Support.

    Respectfully,

I downloaded the demo version of XP11 and will try to set it up with the 3 monitors I use for the windscreen view and my other two monitors for instruments. Will that be possible to do? I should move over to the XP forums to discuss this further.

Don - yes it would be best to discuss that on that forum.

Yes I was lucky that I bought it under the X-Box subscription for $1 and 5.99/month thereafter. I figured that would be a cheap way to test out if it worked the way I wanted it to or if it was all marketing hype. So I cancelled the subscription after the first month and will wait to see whether Asobo gets its act together.

As we’ve been seeing in this forum there is a very long list of fixes and enhancements required to make this a real flight sim experience.  Many of them are very complex.  It remains to be seen if Asobo will tackle these, and if so, which ones.  If they are going to drag this process out over years they will really discourage serious users from using this product or sticking with it after dipping in.  One discouraging sign is that their ‘Known Issues’ list does not contain many or even any of the issues we’ve been pointing out. So  I agree that taking a step back for months/years is appropriate.  I’m enjoying being back with XP11 and my Orbx TrueEarth scenery.
