Thanks for the suggestion. Monitor stayed on all night, never went to screen saver, never went to sleep.
Sorry it didn't work for you. Are you running windows HOME or PRO? Seems there are more elaborate work-a rounds for the PRO version. I have HOME, so not available to me.
I'd shut down the computer rather than just turning off the monitor until you can fix the sleep mode.
You can web search the pros and cons of that and decide. I found this information awhile back and have done it several times even before the latest update.
*Give your computer a bit of rest. If you leave your computer on all the time, you can often fix a problem by shutting down the computer, then unplugging it. Then holding down the power button for 30 seconds
while the computer remains unplugged. This may cause the LED lights to flash. Plug the computer back in and power it on. By cutting off the power to the motherboard, it allows the hardware to reset and the memory to clear.
Who knows??????? Perhaps someone with more knowledge than myself could elaborate on that one! Good Luck.
*uh yeah, I prefer to use a desktop over a laptop! [Insert laughing emoji here.] Not sure how or if possible to do this on a laptop.
