Lifecam HD-3000 bad audio

Hi, Ive been having exactly this problem as well. I even bought another webcam (same one) as I thought the first one I bought was just faulty. I tested both webcams on three different PC's and they both had the same noise on all PC's. What's important to note here is that both webcams were not detected by the driver on any PC tested. A friend of mine has had this webcam for a while, his was detected by the driver and had no noise issues. So I went to check for date they were built. The ones I bought recently were build in September 2020 (2041 and 2044), whereas my friends was built in June 2016 (1627). Im starting to believe that every webcam of this model built in 2020 or the second half of it might be faulty by manufacture. I would be interested to know whether this would align with the date of your faulty webcams.

I got my HD-3000 today and can't get rid of the hum. My old camera cost £5:00, many years ago from eBay, and I will have to reinput it and send the HD-3000 back.

I have been having the same issue and I am on a brand new desktop. It gets suddenly worse and better, but I cannot participate in my online classes while using the microphone. It screams into the zoom room and hurts everyone's ears. This is with the levels set under 60%.

I also get the same hum on 3 desktops despite trying the setting antilope60 have successfully fixed by turning up the sound quality on the mic (it was the default setting already). I tried using the lower quality settings and then back up but the hum persists.

I have the exact same hum on a Windows 10 laptop as well.  I've tried every driver I can find and also ran off battery power.
