Lifecam HD-3000 bad audio

Hi I have Win 10, and I have a Lifecam HD-3000, and the audio has a hum.

I've tried a couple of units and they are the same, so I know it's not a physical fault.

I also tried changing the sampling rate, a solution offered in other forum answers, but that didn't work.

Does the Lifecam HD-3000 simply not work with windows 10, or is there a solution to get the sound working properly ?

    I have exactly the same buzzing sound as you have shown on your YouTube video, and I have the same setup: Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 connected to a Microsoft Surface Pro, running on battery with no power supply connected. So, all Microsoft hardware, and Microsoft software!

    Setting the Default Format to 1 channel, 16 bit, 480000 Hz (DVD Quality) had no effect.

    Same problem for me. Had no problem with sound with an inferior webcan (only bad visuals).

    Bought the HD 3000 today. It's not usable. Too bad, I bought it because it had good reviews.

    Hi, well, can it boost a driver that doesn't exist ?

    I've gone through a lot of forum solutions including using .cab drivers from the windows catalogue - which don't install.

    The microsoft online store lists this camera as suitable for windows 10. I think they should change that.

    Hi all,

    After a few attempts, I tried @Techfreak_'s suggestion and set the highest (on my laptop) sound quality in the control panel (see below): it worked!

    Now the hum seems to have disappeared..  maybe it works on my laptop only but... give it a try!

    Hi JosephT71,

    thanks for your tip.. unfortunately, it didn't help. I tried to record videos and audios with the Microsoft webcam unplugging the electric connection from the PC but the hum (or "buzz") is still there. Moreover, it only affects that cam while any other camera I tried on the same pc doesn't produce any noise. So, it seems to be a specific problem of that model.
