I’ve mentioned several times what to do but there’s confusion arising due to mentioning Outlook/outlook.com then Windows Mail. If the problem is with Windows mail app then changing settings within outlook won’t work. I mentioned to ignore outlook but the next reply spoke of this again.

I’ve given you steps on what to do including setting the account up again using the app specific password but any reply mentions the account password being changed. I am not referring to the account’s password which remains the same but a dedicated password to enter within the the Mail app.

If the Mail app automatically set up the Gmail & Yahoo account then changing the password is not possible, hence why I mentioned setting these up again - you’d only have to enter your email account & the specific app password created for that specific account. I mentioned that if the account is imap then you wouldn’t lose messages & that you could leave the original account & just recreate it but that seemed unacceptable also.

This is why I’m out of options.

As you’re not using Outlook but the Windows Mail app then that solution doesn’t apply. It only applies to the Outlook client within Office.

Right it looks like I've managed to remedy the Google app eventually with this App password, hopefully, thank you, but the Yahoo app is not that straight forward, as this what I get:

How to use this app password

    1. Go to "Tools" in your Outlook client
    2. Click "Account Settings"
    3. Choose your Yahoo account and click ‘Change’
    4. Copy the app password above and paste it into the password field

As we have established, I am unable to go to "Tools" in my Outlook client, so how would I do this, and please do not ask me to delete the account and start again, because with all this I am sceptical, even if I have a imap email server.

There is a problem with this, as I have been seeing on Community forum, so surely there is a solution to be found, as this is getting ridiculous now, don't you think. Anthony
