I lost all my passwords on all my browsers

I lost all my passwords on all my browsers with the last Windows update. Every time I try to get support, I am directed to the spot to "save" passwords. They are still there allowing them to be saved. Each time I sign on to a site, I am asked if I want to save. I always say yes, but it still never saves. I had to change all my passwords and write them down because I didn't remember them because they were all saved before that update.  This is annoying, to say the least. Please, don't advise me on how to go into my browser settings and choose to save passwords. I know that. Everyone does.; It doesn't work!

I have been working on getting this fixed since the last update/ I got blocked out of my bank for attempting to use what I thought was my password. 

I wish to opt-out of Windows updates. They only serve to make PC users, annoyed!

    Has this problem been attributed to Windows 10 Update 20H1? I had just installed this update when the same problem mentioned in this thread started happening on my home computer. All the browsers (Chrime, Edge, IE, etc..) would no longer remember logins and would also no longer automatically log me in to a site if I had indicated that I wanted to automatically log in.

    My only solution was to rollback Windows 10 update 20H1 and go back to 1909. After I did this, then my browser problems went away.

    I noticed that Microsoft has now release Windows 10 20H2. Does anyone know if this update fixed the issue that Windows 10 20H1 caused? If so, then I will try to do an update again. If it wasn't fixed, then I will stick with 1909 and hopefully I won't be forced to update.

    I got a miracle reply from someone that worked! Hope it answers the problem for you:

    "Did you try this? It has worked on two of my computers, and held for over 6 weeks now - 

    Disable the HP Customer participation app:

    Search for Task Scheduler in the Start Menu, and open the program. The window will take a few seconds to populate.
    In the Task Scheduler Library folder, 
    Scroll down and locate the task in the Window: HPCustParticipation....
    Right-click the task and choose Disable.
    Restart your PC

    I found an ANSWER!!!!

    YES I DID

    I revived a Mac Mini    it works    does email better for gmail and crappy Yahoo email

    it remembers all my passwords

    who'd a thunk

    Day 2 of the HP Solution and so far so good.  Thanks to all, this has been driving me crazy since mid last year, hoping it lasts.

    I have had this problem for a few months now.

    I tried to follow the solution suggested but I don't have HP equipment so I couldn't disable the file in question as it wasn't there.
