AOL Mail sync with Windows 10

I tried all of the options online and nothing worked. After several months of trying to figure this out I finally discovered the solution. For some reason, AOL has a separate password that is used for outlook and windows mail that gets generated in the aol settings.

Here's what I did:

1. Log into your aol mail account in your web browser.
2. Go to options at the top right corner of the page below your username
3. In the options menu go to Account info
4. Your account options will pop up. Go to Account Security.
5. At the bottom of the page you will see Manage app passwords
6. You will have the option to choose what app you want to give permission to:
7. I chose Outlook Desktop to setup my outlook account. This generates a password for your aol account that is different from your password you use to login on a web browser.

And there you go. I have not found anywhere else that has this solution. Let me know if this works for you.

I was able to get Windows 10 Mail to work as well. I used the Other App option and it generated a password to use. It worked fine.

I dont understand how happen to mine several emails wont work.  Who care this all mine emails so I can't enter to that.   How?

I've had an e-mail from AOL saying that from 20 October they are no longer supporting third party access such as Windows 10 as they may not be secure and to sign in directly via the web or their app.

I'm disappointed with this action as it means I don't have access on the Windows platform which I find is great and simple to use, so is there any way I can still continue to access my e-mails using Windows 10 after October or will they now be blocked.

Hope you can persuade AOL to change their minds.

AOL in its finding a way to jerk its customers around now penalizes the customers  no longer sending your email to your email account on Windows 10.  I have not received an email in AOl since Moarch 17, 2021.
