Flight Simulator 2020 PC code edition is asking for start DVD despite of digital owner installed

Hello,

I ordered and installed the FS 2020 version with the PC code.

After FS 2020 I installed the digital owner add-on (can be only installed afterwards).

But when I start the FS 2020 then a screen is appearing to ask for a disk that I don't have.

What can I do to get it started?

    Hello LionelDenny

    i just checked again:

when Bitdefender 2021 (Version 25.0.3.24) with all latest updates installed is active, then i get the dreaded 'insert disc' message when i want to start MSFS2020.

So i can not confirm this has been fixed from Bitdefenders side.

Hopefully they will fix it asap.

    update:

i just even tried to add a rule manually to Bitdefenders Firewall

it was not possible, since BD would not let me add a rule to the flightsimulator.exe which has 0 bytes

PatrickV there has been a problem with Bitdefender which I think has been dealt with recently as I found my solution initially was to turn off the firewall and I too raised a ticket. Lately the sim opens just fine with firewall running so thought the last update to Bitdefender had resolved this issue.

I have the downloadversion from MS Store of MSFS2020 Standard.

Since a few days i was getting the 'insert disc' error.

I noticed that the Digital Ownership Package from MS Store could not be downloaded at all.

After a lot of trying and testing i found out that apparently an upgrade of my Antivirus Software Bitdefender was causing the problem.

A few days ago i was upgrading from Bitdefender 2020 to the new Bitdefender 2021 Version.

While MS FLightsime ran wonderfully with Bitdefender 2020, it is not the case wiht the new Bitdefender 2021.

I deactivated Bitdefender 2021 and i could start MSFS2020 just fine.

    No more 'insert disc'

Just opened a ticket with Bitdefender support on how to get MSFS2020 running with Bitdefender enabled...

@Dirk, I had the same issue. The issue is, the game uses the identity you used to install the app from the microsoft store. If you sign into the store with another identity, that doesn't own the game, you will get this message. I signed out of my secondary identity and logged back into the same identity that I used to purchase the game in the Windows 10 Microsoft Store, and I stopped getting this error.

Personally, I think it is a silly error for an obvious issue. They should fix it.

Cheers, and I hope this helps!
