Flight Sim 2020 keeps crashing even with the a beast of a PC and Video card?

I bought MFS2020 via the Steam Store. I'm able to run the game, but after seeing the developers logo's, the game crashes. I tried all the solution you mentioned above, but nothing changes.

Steps I completed:

• Verifying the integrity of the local game via Steam
• Updating Windows 10
• Updating my Graphics Drivers (NVIDIA P4000 - version 460.2)
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
• Increasing the Virtual Memory on my system. (Physical Memory 32GB RAM)

One thing I noticed, I only had to log in to Xbox Live once, the first time I tried opening the game.

Any ideas? I'm pretty desperate..

I have a pretty poweful system with a:

-EVGA Geforce Nvidia RTX 2080ti Ultra Hybrid Gaming GPU that is water cooled

-i5 8600K CPU

-16 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM

-Asus Ultra Gaming Motherboard

-1 TB NVME M.2 SSD 

-500 GB SSD 

My system has a $1,500 GPU that is literally the most powerful Nvdia GPU available, other than the $2,500 Nvdia Titan. My NVME M.2 SSD is one of the fastest consumer SSD’s on the market. My CPU speed, the size and speed of my RAM, and my mother board are all good, but not great, but well within the Recommended levels for MSFS. 

I removed all the overclocks on my GPU, CPU, motherboard, and RAM because some people are saying that overclocks could be the cause of some of the stability isssues with MSFS 2020. 

I’ve also tried every recommendation from Microsoft support and from expert articles and Youtube video, which included changing a bunch of settings on my PC and graphics card, as well as in the MSFS application. Also, I am not using any 3rd party plug-ins like SIMCONNECT or FSUIPC, which are both known to cause serious FPS drops and stability issues with MSFS 2020.

With all of these changes implemented and without any overclocks, I still can’t get my FPS to average more than 30 FPS and the MSFS application is still extremely unstable, constantly freezing and crashing, not only the application, but also my entire PC. 

Its continuously crashing my PC whenever I try to save a cache in the app settings, on the map cache page. The app is frequently crashing my PC when I hit the “Ready to Fly” button. The app is also frequently crashing my PC in the middle of flights. 

I can rarely get into a new flight and complete even a 30 minute flight without the app crashing my entire PC at some point in the flight set up process or during the flight itself. 

I’m at a complete loss of what fo try next. I did buy a new Intel 10th Gen i9 10900K CPU, 32 GB of DDR4 3600 RAM, and a new higher end gaming motherboard, but I haven’t had time to install of of this yet. This is the highest performance consumer-grade Intel CPU on the market, plenty of very fast RAM, and one of the best gaming motherboards money can buy. 

I had planned to do these upgrades, not just for MSFS 2020, but also for DCS World, some space sims, and some other new games, as well adding VR to my setup in the near future. 

But the truth is that unfortunately, I really don’t think any of these major upgrades will make a significant diffrence with the stability and performance of MSFS 2020. 

I really think the source of all my issues and the similar issues that many other people are suffering with MSFS are due to some major optimization issues with the application itself, not the PC’s its being run on.

I have a brand new PC with the ideal set up recommended by Microsoft with a 450 Gb drive and it crashes my PC the second I load a flight no matter what graphics setting I select. I am very, very frustrated.

I became very frustrated trying run FS2020, it would just stop and close.

Studying the GPU performance I noticed that the GPU would go to zero just before a crash.  Mmmm, a hint.

Went into device manager and checked the driver for the GTX 1070 and all seemed well, but the published date was a bit old and I couldn't download a newer version.  What to do?

Went to the NVIDIA site and checked on drivers.  It was difficult to tell as the version numbers had a different format, but the NVIDIA driver seemed newer, so I downloaded it and installed it.

As a result the game doesn't crash anymore.

Now, to configure my flight controller.

Add me to this list. I have the same problem you do. I have an HP Omen. It meets and exceeds the recommended requirements to run FS2020. I have done a ton of different things. I feel like if I do too much more, I'll do more damage than good. I hope a patch is about to be released. I think that is what it will take to fix all of this. Microsoft needs to put out a statement about this and let everyone know what we should expect
