Windows 10 says I have no internet connection, but I have.

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.

I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).

As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?

If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

Hello, use Registry Editor, go to: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

and modify: EnableActiveProbing

then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"

and restart your computer

The proper one is

"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force

But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

    I updated my post that you referenced and you should read it again since the problem came back after 20 minutes... but it looks like you didn't run PowerShell with Administrative privileges.

    SO FARRRRR........ this is the ONLY solution that has worked.  I set my Wi-Fi interfaces to InterfaceMetric of 5 and restarted my computer.

    Set-NetIPInterface -ifIndex 9 -InterfaceMetric 5

    I will update this post if it changes but I'm keeping my fingers crossed since this problem is REALLY impeding my work!!!

    I'm a network engineer and so I'm very familiar with the network settings on my own devices.

    (In fact, my avatar shows me working on a network rack)

    After receiving the update that caused this issue, I noticed that there were several new network connections added to my device.

    The new connections had names that started with "v".

    I DISABLED these new connections and now the tray network icon is normal and I can connect to Windows Store (a good way to test to see if you can connect to MS services)

    THAT'S ALL I DID.

    In the image below, the grayed out icons have been disabled by me.
