The new Update is here! Windows 10 2004.

Hey all!

The new version 2004 is up and ready to download. Theres two methods to install it.

Method one:

Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update (selected by default) > Check For Updates (all in lower caps)

P.S if you not able to find any updates It maybe your windows version (1909) is conlficting with your updates.  If this happens follow method two:

Method two:

Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 > click on update now to install (Windows 10 update assistant) > follow the instructions and wait for install to complete. (read P.S If you new to the Windows 10 Update Assistant software.)

P.S allow the software to download and install the new windows version one done a notification will pop on the desktop. Dont worry this is normal and the software will automatically restart your pc. 

DO NOT TURN OFF THE DESKTOP OR LAPTOP WHEN IT RESTARTS.

    Hi

    I always do updates for my windows 10 1909 and my MS products.

    However, I am concerned about doing the windows 10 2004 etc upgrade because of the issues.

    Everything is working well with 1909 and so, I'll wait.

    I have found I can get it to work on some machines with this issue if I use the ISO instead of using windows updates or Upgrade Assistant

    Scroll down to "Download tool now". Select the .ISO choice, and follow the prompts.

    I'm still nervous about downloading this updated, upgraded version after hearing about all the problems.

    I''m afraid of all the unwanted changes it may make to my apps, folders, customization, etc. that have occurred to others.

    I'll keep your advice under consideration, and download the ISO version to a flash drive, for when and if i proceed.

    think I'll wait a while longer to see how others fare.

    There certainly are many who express your apprehension. But I assure you, there are many, many, more, who experience no such issues. I would advise any client of mine to update as often, and as regularly, as possible. At times, a man-made system will experience quirks. But failing to keep up with security patches, and fixes that updates cover, will, in the long run, save you more than delaying will cost you. The 'others" may be experiencing issues because they waited too long to install an update. Windows updates constantly. The apps, and programs, you use up date constantly. Falling behind in updating your system will cost far more than waiting will gain you. But the decision is, ultimately, yours. That's just my .02's worth.
