The new Update is here! Windows 10 2004.

Hey all!

The new version 2004 is up and ready to download. Theres two methods to install it.

Method one:

Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update (selected by default) > Check For Updates (all in lower caps)

P.S if you not able to find any updates It maybe your windows version (1909) is conlficting with your updates.  If this happens follow method two:

Method two:

Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 > click on update now to install (Windows 10 update assistant) > follow the instructions and wait for install to complete. (read P.S If you new to the Windows 10 Update Assistant software.)

P.S allow the software to download and install the new windows version one done a notification will pop on the desktop. Dont worry this is normal and the software will automatically restart your pc. 

DO NOT TURN OFF THE DESKTOP OR LAPTOP WHEN IT RESTARTS.

    Hi,

    The difference is that Windows 7 gave no problems. not for me anyway.

    And, after doing some research it seems this upgrade is full of issues.

    When windows 10 first came out it was a constant fix and re-fix. I would prefer not to go through that world of frustration again.

    I'm not as tech savvy as some and do not want to have to stress about jumping through hoops to have my PC and laptop in good working order again.

    My PC and laptop are in a perfect state for me currently ; So unless I am forced to, I'll be happy to wait.

    I have decided not to update at this time, and will only update if there are no problems.

    Please advise.

    Well, that's pretty much up to you. I remember hearing the same thing said about Windows XP from users who didn't want the hassle of "growing" OS's. So, they fought Windows 7, tooth and nail..., until they had no choice. XP went away and 7 was the only choice. MS didn't help themselves with Windows 8, and it's hybrid, 8.1. They also didn't help us, the victims. So now, the villain is Windows 10. Personally, I think they are trying way too hard to go way too fast with this OS, not addressing the legitimate concerns of it's customers. It appears that they are taking the "too big to fail" position, and we are suffering from it. There are far too many incompetent "support technicians" whose greatest talent is reading a script and rehearsing how to follow it with precision.

    So, waiting on the "no problems" version of this will only get you further behind, and make updating more difficult than it has been. Face it, this is not what we were used to with our OS. We have to adjust. But that's your choice....
