I can only suggest you contact Microsoft. And this is not the place to do that.

Strange. I have an HP desktop (a refurbished one I bought several years ago, at that) and I had no such issues. Of course I regularly make use of the to make sure my device is ready for all Windows Updates. They are two separate companies...and you need to keep both running smoothly. Incidentally this Support Assistant will also update your BIOS when you need it so keep an eye on these updates. Additionally run the program occasionally too. All this is free, of course.

Jeremy, if the updates has caused no problems then leave it. If however you has problems that appear to be due to the update then uninstall it to see if it fixes the problems. I've now uninstalled KB4497165 and, so far, the PC is working well. It seems this "non MS" update should never have been issued automatically to users apart from those with a defined list of Intel processors. I checked mine and it wasn't listed, so I uninstalled. Normal users shouldn't have to worry about this stuff - I've wasted hours trying to fix freezes.
