using a second external camera with microsoft teams

Microsoft has So much money but they are so behind everything....I just don't get it. Obviously every teacher in the country who is forced to use teams needs this feature...just add it.

My solution for this problem is to join the same session with the same account from two devices. E.g. show you with the camera in your smartphone and show the teaching content, whiteboard, experiment or whatever with a camera attached to your notebook. Make sure to mute microphone and speaker on one device and keep microhone open on that device that streams the video that you want to show in large screen, because teams shows the video in large where the noise comes from. You can also attach an external microphone in addition to the one that comes with your webcam. Plus, I recommend to attach both devices to a power supply for longer sessions.

Try using the whiteboard feature of Teams. You can project a digital whiteboard and do whatever you need to do.  Takes some practice, but is a great collaboration tool for virtually interacting and teaching.

I work with the Arduino and as a result use a document camera extensively to show setups and help students to trouble shoot their breadboards.  Thanks for the work around, this works for now.  I tried using the device settings to "switch" cameras, however I noticed that having a background negated the document camera altogether (the document cam background was black).  So I had to switch both device settings and the select/deselect the background filter in order to use the document camera while presenting.

I urge Microsoft to explore more flexibility in their product to allow for multiple entries in using external media sources, both video and audio for example.
