According to this post it should be fixed already in Insiders Build (currently Dev Channel only).
Airpods Pro: very bad quality in Headset mode on Windows 10
Dear all,
I've got my new Airpods Pro, they work well with my iPhone.
Also on Windows 10 via bluetooth, sound quality is good when using the "Airpods stereo" mode.
However, in the headset mode ("Airpods Hands-Free AG Audio") sound and especially microphone quality is extremely bad. I tried to change the default format (see screenshot, it's only 8000Hz), but I cannot change it as it's grey. Any advice to get a better microphone quality?

2021-03-19T18:50:15+00:00 Only downside that I have found so far is that if I want to switch audio on my airpods from my PC to my iphone, ipad, or Macbook Air, it won't let me connect when the Avantree DG80 is plugged into my PC. I have to remove that dongle from the USB port and then I can connect to my other airpods to my Apple devices like normal. Let me know if anyone with the DG80 knows of a different solution.

2021-03-19T03:41:58+00:00 It's absolutely not good enough that Microsoft has failed to get this working especially given the circumstances with a lot more people working remotely. The fact that in 2021, you can't use Microsoft Teams on Windows 10 with a Bluetooth headset without having to fork out for a 3rd party adapter is just ridiculous.

2021-03-19T02:54:43+00:00 I've been watching this thread for quite a while now with no real solutions until I read about the DG80 Avantree. Decided to give it a try and it works great with my Apple Airpods Pro. Zoom, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Teams conference calls all sound great now and my airpods mic works too. Can't believe it took a full year into a pandemic and hundreds of conference calls later to get this to work. Just a shame that it had to be an additional $30 USB device that did the trick and not a simple Windows 10 update.
