Audio and video pauses automatically

Audio and video pause automatically (and sometimes pause and play) only when I use an internal (Youtube, google) or 3rd party software (windows media player, VLC, films &TVs ).

  1. It happens only when I am playing a video or audio.
  2. No virus (after scan)
  3. Since the spacebar key is usually associated with play & pause, I tried typing something in MS word. I did not see any auto space being generated between 2 letters. (tested for 5 mins)
  4. Autoplay and pause (sometimes just pause) occur maybe after 20 seconds. (it is random)
  5. I can actually see the virtual pause and play button is toggled. (no other error message is shown, it happens as if I am physically pressing the spacebar key.

I don't own any alexa product, still facing the issue.

    Rapid Play-Pause

Has anyone found a solution yet??? Its due to some windows update. Some updates solves the issue. Then the next updates brings it back!

Microsoft! Pls fix it. This issue comes and goes, since July 2020.

    Hi Martin,

You were correct in your observation regarding alexa echo dot being responsible for the issue. I was also facing the same issue. And I contacted the support team for the same. They guided me to install the windows version of alexa from the microsoft store and also update my phone app for alexa. Once I did that my issue got resolved.

And now I am able to play/pause the videos on all the websites freely.

Hope this info helps you too.

    Have a nice day.

    I just resolved this issue.

I was having a similar problem, unable to play multimedia on my device

(however youtube, chrome and everything else was working fine)

I figured that the issue was within mi D: Drive  (Hard Drive)

Anything else on my C: Drive (Nvme) was working fine

The issue was with the Internal D Drive

When I checked the task manager, the D drive raised to 100% all of a sudden, giving me pauses in music, videos and games within the D drive.

After a lot of troubleshooting the solution was kind of simple:

I just had to change the power options plan to high performance.

Sounds simple but it fixed the issue right away, i am no longer having this issue anymore

I also get solved permanently. What the thing I did was replaced the keyboard.
Issue was happening due to keyboard. Now all are good.
