Microsoft store won't let me install apps on my D:\ drive

So I was trying out the Xbox Game Pass for PC and I was going to install Sea Of Theives and Astroneer.

I first downloaded Astroneer to my C:\ (my ssd) and it worked out because it is around 3 GB it fit.

However, when I was going to install Sea Of Theives I had to change my default drive from C:\ to D:\ (my hdd) because I couldn't fit it on my ssd.

It downloaded fine, but when it was trying to install the game, it just stopped and said "Error" instead on installing. Then instead of the "Play" button there is a button called "See details". When I clicked it, a popup comes up saying: "Something unexpected happened. Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait for a while and try again or restart your device. That may help. Code: 0x80070005"

That is the code for "Access denied" which is strange, why wouldn't Microsoft Store have access to install apps on my computer?

I have tried updating windows to the latest update, I have reset the Microsoft Store and I have tried to give the group "Everyone" access to the folder that Microsoft Store is installing in. Without any success.

To summarise, I can install apps from Microsoft Store to my C:\ drive (ssd), but not to my D:\ (hdd). It downloads fine, but when it tries to install I get the following error: "Something unexpected happened. Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait for a while and try again or restart your device. That may help. Code: 0x80070005".

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi Erik,

Please rename the folder WindowsApps in Drive D to WindowsApps.old, restart your computer, It should work after renaming it.

    When I do that It want me to uninstall old apps then give me that error code for access denied

    hey so i tried this and it told me everything there would need to be deleted so i clicked yes and it gave me error code 0x80070005 and said the operation did not complete sucessfully. what do i do now? i didnt want to delete everything in the folder anyways but now i cant set it to my default download space for apps but it will allow it for media and such. it only denies apps which is really confusing because it downloaded steam there on its own

    İ cant see hdd drive after rename the windowsapps folder,just sdd usable :/

    I'm tried normal windowsapps folder in hdd and i see this error

    I cant download the game i tried everyway but not working.
