Servicing Stack Updates

It is recommended to install Servicing stack updates before installing the cumulative updates. This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) makes sure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates

Known Issues

Symptom Workaround
After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, "0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND." <ol><br><li>Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs. For instructions, see <a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4496404" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Manage the input and display language settings in Windows 10</a>.</li><li>Select <span>Check for Updates</span> and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update. For instructions, see <a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027667" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Update Windows 10</a>.</li></ol><br><br>Note If reinstalling the language pack does not mitigate the issue, reset your PC as follows:<br><ol><br><li>Go to the <span>Settings </span>app > <span>Recovery</span>.</li><li>Select <span>Get Started</span> under the <span>Reset this PC</span> recovery option.</li><li>Select <span>Keep my Files</span>.</li></ol><br><br>Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

There are no known issues for KB4549951.

Symptom Workaround
We have seen social media reports related to KB4549951 that mention Bluetooth, a stop error with a blue screen, and other related issues. To date, we have not seen these issues reflected in telemetry, support data, or customer feedback channels. We continuously investigate all customer feedback and are closely monitoring this situation.<br><br><br>Note If you experience any issues, we'd like to know.     Do you by any chance have a patch for the update that totally bricked my gaming desktop? I would really like that. I have been quarantined for a month playing solitaire and candy crush on a laptop. I live alone. At least send someone out to shoot me.

    Like many, I'm getting BSOD repeatedly. Used MSCONFIG to try and get safe mode. Now can't get out of it because Win10 doesn't recognise my password. I've changed it repeatedly via other PC and phone. I now have a very expensive box taking up space and no access to my files. If only games would run on Linux.....

    Hello All,

    With regards to Servicing Stack Updates, (for builds 1809, 1903 & 1909) Microsoft didn't changed their statement and kept mentioning that: 

    It is recommended to install Servicing stack updates before installing the cumulative updates.

    Seems, Microsoft has involved some 3rd party vendor who just copy & paste these statement and did not even bother to check the validity of such technical lines. Just to update that ever since Servicing Stack Updates were introduced by Microsoft, I didn't find SSU getting offered through Windows Update (am specific to Win10 1809, 1903 & 1909 only).

    Would suggest Microsoft to reconfirm on this and update on all support URL's.

    Somebody at MS give this guy an answer!

    Will MS actually fix these issues?  Will MS acknowledge that it is working to fix these issues?  I have paused updates on my laptop because I fear it will be dead the moment it restarts.
