The update didnt cause this problem for you, Eddie. Its physically impossible for an OS update to cause your computer to fail to POST. 

Those beeps are beep codes, and without knowing the make and model of your motherboard, they're not going to get you anywhere. 

If you just bought it 5 days ago, then return it. Otherwise, take it to a shop where someone competent (no offense meant, but it doesn't seem like this is within your skillset or something that someone with the appropriate skillset can walk you through doing) can take a look at it, and fix it for you. No, its not dead forever. 

The update caused your computer to reboot, which is when the issue presented itself. Had you rebooted the computer without updating first, you would've had the same problem. Its called a coincidence. 

The reason I am replying to you is that some tech journalist that doesn't understand tech quoted you and is spreading hysteria and false information based on YOUR post. 

As I said, its literally physically impossible for an OS update to cause HARDWARE issues with your computer, which is what failing to POST means. 

I don't think that particularly helps you at all, aside from recommending you return it or take it to a shop, but at least you won't wrongly blame Microsoft for an issue you just happened to have at the same time as you applied the update.

I've recently noticed a similar problem and nobody can figure it out. I can access everything but when I attempt to access any Microsoft applications word,office, anything like that is just awfully slow any ideas?

How is it a Microsoft (software) update s interferring with a BIOS POST test in bootup?  Windows has nothing to do with your BIOS ... That's more of a hardware issue and just happens to be a coincidence.  I'm no Microsoft fan at all really, but I wouldn't be so quick to blame Windows on a hardware problem.

 This really doesnt sound like an issue resulting from running an update.  But an issue with the hardware. If it were me i would either return to the vendor, since its under 30 days, or attempt connecting the your hardware vendor support.

Onto the other issues of everyone's having issues with screens and boots. I was able to roll this back but booted to Ubuntu off a thumb drive, mou t the os, and remove the kb.

It is affecting the BIOS, but seems to be specific to HP computers.
