Has anyone found a solution to hosting a Minecraft bedrock server (which has worked fine for a long time), all of a sudden showing the error message 'You need to authenticate with Microsoft services' tried: signing out and in again restarting server turning server into offline / back into online reinstalling Minecraft app on my PC checked logs and confirmed full access to the internet for server suggestions? kind regards rob

I found this problem too when making a server. I have not been able to fix it but noticing that it hasn't been resolved here I thought I would share some things I noticed that might help. I was playing the server on my Xbox One through LAN and after stopping the server I turned off my Xbox and later when I turned it back on Minecraft was still open but when I try to join the server it comes up with the "You need to authenticate Microsoft services". simply restarting the game did the trick. I think that this is not an issue with the Microsoft Account but more the connection between the system and something else. It was also happening on my mobile at first but fixed itself somehow I should also note that the issue has always appeared on my Laptop (running windows version 10.0.18363 N/A Build 18363). my laptop is managed by my school so there might be some firewall that affects something lastly I will say that my school has an image that they use when resetting laptops that includes all my essential school needs but none of the default windows apps, so I have to install them manually. I also had to install Xbox Identity Provider manually to sign in to Minecraft in the first place I know none of this might not help but thought I should put in some information that could help resolve the issue

tried:

The Bedrock server executable must be run with administrator permissions.

Right-click bedrock_server.exe

Click Properties

Click Compatibility

Click Change settings for all users

Click to select "Run this program as an administrator"

Click OK twice.

So I had this issue too,

The fix of taking the server worked for connecting offline but then my GF couldn't connect from her place. So I had to set it back to "true" and try another fix.

I restarted the Xbox (as opposed to turning it off and on as I use the instant on setting so powering off doesn't actually work as a way of resetting it as it never really turns off)

I'm not sure if that was actually what fixed it or not as the following also changed

I opened Xbox companion on the PC running the server (not sure how that would have changed anything though)

I tinkered with my Xbox privacy settings (not sure how that would have made a difference either)

I drank a can of coke (I am 100% sure that wasn't what fixed it but include it so as to be thorough) :)

If it happens again il come back and add further info to the post if not, consider it as having Perma fixed the issue for me.
