Hello,

I have installed the latest update of windows 10 (home and pro).

Windows 10 Pro - 1909 (v. 18363.476)

Now the "search" tab is no longer in the folders and I can't clear the search history either. Where is this tab?!

I did this, I typed in the word "file" in the search box in the top right corner and the "search" tab appeared.  Then I just erased the word file and hit enter.  The "search" tab remained.  Then I was able to sort on file size on my entire C drive which is what I was trying to do.  I like use the search function to locate "gigantic" files and get rid of what I can to free up space.  Thanks for the tip!!!

I have the same problem in W10 v1909 OS build 18363.693.

When you simply click the "Search Bar" in File Explorer the Search Tools Tab does NOT appear as it is supposed.

However, if you execute a search then it does.  So, the workaround is to do your search and then you'll see the Search Tools tab and can proceed from there.  This appears to be a bug, though, and it would be more convenient to have the Search Tools tab appear upon simply clicking the Search bar.  For example, if you want to search all files created "Today."

How's this one? The search tab is fine as long as I don't click in it. As soon as I do, it gets VERY tiny. **** Microsoft???

As soon as you type where?

I have nothing here, I can't type anything anywhere.

    Am I missing something?

If you can't type into the Search box at the top right of the explorer window then it has crashed and you need to restart Explorer from Task Manager and then it will work again for a while!

1909 appears to have introduced several bugs (Thanks Microsoft! Would you please put the grown-ups back in charge now? Thanks!) including a really irritating blue screen of death every time I restart two of my computers

Thanks for the advice, but that does not work, the search tab still does not show up.
