New Windows 10 update making everything slow

Thank you for the suggestion, and I did sfc my system all to no avail. I even uninstalled the update, again to no avail. What ever it did to my system, was done and I was only able to get my system back up to speed after wiping the SSD HD and installing Windows 10 & all Updates, did my recover. 

I searched for days, if not a week, again to no avail. Not until I wiped it.

I received your suggestion and wanted to say thank you. I had tried this in the past all to no avail for me. I at one time had also uninstalled the update and it didn't fix a thing for me. Hopefully Microsoft will fix this. I have already downloaded a different OS and I'm even considering changing over to Apples IOS, because this is ridicules'. For me, each time there's a major update, I end up having to wipe my SSD HD clean, then install Windows 10 with all updates before installing any of my other software. For me, this fixes it. Sadly!

My computer did two updates within two days.  Like every update, I noticed that my computer runs real slow, impeding me for perhaps weeks.  However, with these latest two updates I tried something different.  After the updates were made, and my computer eventually loaded up, all I did was optimize my C: drive and after it finished my computer worked fast again, this both times.

I am no computer expert, but this worked for me.  I was able to open my software again and use my computer as normal.  I hope this is of use.  If anyone can come with a rational explanation why optimizing/defragmenting ought to do this, I would love to hear.

Hi, wasn't the cause known? I had this issue with my last year and it turned out it was some app installed with the update. I believe it was an antivirus called something defense. CB Defense maybe? Carbon black I think. Check if you have it installed, after I uninstalled that thing the computer ran perfectly

I have the same problem.  I haven't tried any of your approaches yet,; I'll need to set aside a whole day.  But I just want to give you a big thank you for composing the email, and assembling instructions that are as clear as could be given the little information you have.

Each update in 2020-2021 has noticeably slowed my computer, to the point that it's now taking 45 and 50 seconds to load routine pages (like Firefox startup screen, gmail screen that lists 50 messages, etc.)  The updates of 2021 are especially bad.

Microsoft, please stop.  It seems that there's a finite set of good ideas for operating systems.  It seems that that finite supply was exhausted in 2004 or so.   That was the year that the ratio of worthless/bad/slowdown-with-no-benefit/bury-useful-things-under-uselessly-deep-menus changes to Windows crossed over the ratio of good ideas (Vista and Office 2007).  Please stop.  Please stop.  Please stop.  Or else give us a switch we can set to disable all updates except urgent security updates.
