Your phone companion app error : "We can't connect to your phone"

I have been getting this message since the 3rd.  I have tried the sync troubleshooting steps but they have not worked.

I was finally able to fix this by going into the Shared experience settings in Windows 10

Click the start button and type Shared experiences and then open the setting. Toggle the On switch and see if that works. Even if the on switch is already on, toggle it off and then back on again and see if that fixes it. One thing to note is that you should probably only have My devices only in the dropdown menu.

    Thanks but I am afraid that ability for calling is the main reason I use the app.....

    There is if you dont need calling. Its the "closer to the metal" version of this app: Messages (which you already have on your phone for this) and Messages for web (https://messages.google.com/web/authentication). Just sign in and bookmark the page.

    this app runs in tray and works like a messenger. It uses all the dependencies that Your Phone App uses but only works for texting. Its a lot more stable simply because it doesnt have to run through MS servers, or force your phone to deal with Wifi AND Bluetooth to get calls and texts (STUPID STUPID STUPID DOES NOT 'work just like your car!' my car uses only BT to do all of this).

    Having messages running on your phone helps too. Dont kill it with "recent apps" flip switcher it hurts connectivity.
