In case of Problems with File Explorer, you can use an alternative program e.g Explorer++ (search it in Google)
File Explorer search not working in Windows 10 1909
Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.
Kind regards
Byron

You can roll back to 1903. Use instructions found with the following search for that.
https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+roll+back+1909+update
Note that Windows will then start to remind you that you can update to 1909. Sometimes those constant reminders are a pain, so you can search for a way to turn Windows Update off. (You just have to remember to turn it back on later.)
Or you can stay with 1909 and use the "Restart Windows Explorer" work-around when it stops working. When you find it not working, try the following:
a) Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager
b) Select Windows Explorer in the Apps section
c) Press the Restart button at the bottom right of the Task Manager
This will close all Windows Explorer instances so you will have to start another (Windows Key + E), then re-navigate to where you were, but search will work for awhile before stopping again.
If you feel strongly enough about this that you wish to tell Microsoft (and you should), follow these instructions to give feedback using the Windows Feedback Hub.

In the meantime, I can suggest you to rollback. I am not suggesting troubleshooting as I am seeing many cases regarding the same lately.

an almost Useless suggestion used my MCP's; "rollback" is a standard reply when someone can not bring forth the solution or an answer to a question. Be honest, and 'say' I don't know !; then go and find an answer.

2019-12-10T10:34:33+00:00 The reboot is what temporarily fixes it, although you would attain the same results from merely killing explorer.exe in task manager and then starting it again.
I found the same thing you did EconomicHitman. Using the task manager to shut down file explorer is the easiest way.

2019-12-09T18:36:04+00:00 I keep looking for the task "angermanagement.class", but it must have went away with 1909 as well.
