Following some problems with a 3 year old Acer Cloudbook I had a PC shop re install a fresh Windows 10 and delete the original version. I had previously done something to change the touchpad settings and had resolved it by installing updated drivers. I think I might have moved the drivers to a flash drive and then deleted them by accident.
The new install doesn't allow the touchpad to work properly. I have no touchpad according to device manager merely a mouse. However, I am physically using the touchpad to navigate but it will not scroll or pinch to zoom etc. It will move the pointer and nothing else. The touchpad is therefore in existence somewhere on the laptop but the device manager doesn't have any details of it. Settings does but only allows me to change the delay time. Nothing else. It seems I have completely deleted the software.
I have tried updating the drivers for touchpad via Acer website but when competed the drives download but I get a windows error message saying this device doesn't work on my laptop. Any ides of how I can recover the driver software would be greatly appreciated.

As I remember the tech guy changed the touchpad settings from advanced to basic in Bios as the mouse cursor didn't work at all in advanced Would you recommend trying to set it to advanced again before I try using the touchpad or have to re set and update any drivers?

2019-09-27T13:30:04+00:00 You will no longer require the USB unless you wish to reinstall Windows but make sure all is ok before you do anything with it.
Once logged back into Windows you can transfer your files back over but programs & some apps will need to be reinstalled.
When back in Windows you can go into BIOS & change boot back to Windows. Usually if USB is first & Windows boot is second then if there’s no USB connected it’ll boot into Windows automatically.

2019-09-27T13:25:54+00:00 I've sorted out the boot sequence etc and re configured it to start from the flash drive which is currently having 64 bit windows installed on it One question I have re this: Once completed can I move the windows 10 program liles etc back onto the C drive of my laptop having deleted older versions of windows etc and change it back to start up normally without the flash drive? Or will I always have to use the flash drive? It's a 16GB flash drive with about 14 GB space on it and I'm thinking of when Windows continually does updates would it run out of space?
