Local network problems with 1903

I have updated 3 of my 4 computers to 1903, now none of them can see each other in the explorer network section, but each of them can see the NAS drive on the network. I have checked the network sharing settings and they are all set as make this computer discoverable. Oddly the JRiver media centre servers show up in windows explorer, but the computers which they are on do not appear. Any suggestions?

I think I may have finally resolved the issue.  Took some time, but finally have positive results... Let's see if this works for y'all.

First:  Make sure you have the correct services running.  Right click the start menu, click run and type in "services.msc"  Make sure all of the following services are set on automatic (delay start).  Note, if your system is fast enough, you may not have to put it on delay start.  I only did that not to bog down the boot time.

     DHCP Client

     Function Discovery Provider Host

     Function Discovery Resource Publication

     SSDP Discovery

     UPnP Device Host

Second: Make sure you have the correct Windows components running.  Open settings, click on Apps, and then in the upper right hand corner, you will find Programs and Features.  Now, on the upper left hand side of this new window, you will see Turn Windows Features On or Off, click that.  Make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support and SMB Direct are both fully checked (not the black box, but a check mark.)  I also have Work Folders Client checked, but not sure if that will affect it.

Third:  Make sure you have Enable Remote Desktop enabled... even if you do not plan on accessing your computer remotely.  Always remember, if you don't have a password on your account, you can't access the computer remotely anyway.  This is found under Settings, then System, and finally the last choice on the bottom left.

Fourth and Final Step:  Make sure you are on a private network.  Click on the network icon on the toolbar, and select Network and Internet Settings.  If under your connection device, it says public, click on either the Ethernet or WiFi link, and change it to Private.

Now, reboot the computer, and see if this works. 

I have been trying to find a solution to this since May.  Please let me know if this helps.  If not, I will keep trying.  Someone has to work the bugs out.

    Huh?  Is this about my solution?

    I admit, it is not the most elegant and it leaves a giant security vulnerability, but it was the only way I found to work the highest majority of the time. 

    I am, by no means, trying to act in any offensive manner nor am I trying to raise a fund-raiser.  I am just a person trying to fix problems and help people.  I don't work for Microsoft and I do this on my own.

    I have tried to answer any questions asked about the situation, but I haven't been able to do so as diligently as before, as my daughter and I have been moving... so I do apologize. 

    In any case, I really wasn't trying to anger anyone. All I know is I just got this random email about this... with quite a lot of vulgarity thrown my way, it seems.  I just think that the matter escalated quickly.

    Seemed fine to me. I just added in a link that basically has the same things you posted & more.

    Ricky got upset for some bizarre reason. So he had to come here and start in on me of how he is the King & I committed a crime posting my link.

    I suspected Richard was also Charitable Computing .org, because it is a new account & I could not understand why he showed up on this thread out of the blue & started harassing me & flinging pooo.

    It was like this was his comment marked as answered & I stepped on his ego.

    Huh?  I am still in the dark...

    I never changed my name nor mentioned teens.  Also, I have not deleted any posts.

    I really am scratching my head on this one and I look nothing like Chalie Brown.  I don't have my main workstations up, so I can't see the full thread.  All I know is I have started getting these emails this morning on my phone.

    Btw, I am not 32 either... I am 43.

    I really am sorry if my answer offended you, but could you please stop sending me harassing emails about it? I was only trying to help and also see if anyone had any better solutions.
