fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com cannot access

Apparently Microsoft is discontinuing this service for Windows 7 AND most Windows 10 Media Players. I spoke with Customer support two days ago and they see the same resolutions and even they have not been informed of their update network being taken offline. **This all began when they stopped basic support for Windows 7, I would imagine a deliberate "planned obsolescence" of the software to force users to seek out the paid services networks.**If so shameful, petty and overall lacks foresight: how many others would rather walk away from Microsoft to use the free iTunes? I have tested Windows 7 Starter, Pro, and Home and they no longer update the song lists. I would keep my eye on it, I think if enough persons make a fuss they would bring it back up. That would only be in their favor.

Jumpy, you mention a few other programs. What do you recommend for a home theater setup?

This is a cross OS platform Windows Media Center problem as it no longer auto generates titles or artists on most of my Windows 10 computers either (I repair computers). I have been using Media Center since Windows ME / 2000 / XP inception and have chosen it's simple nature above all the others time and time again. What a waste, to be driven from Microsoft to Apple iTunes. Groove Music is a joke. I don't think Microsoft understands the repercussions of losing audiophiles to other audio software distributors. Think "Out Of Sight Out Of Mind." Back to Winamp for me I guess LOL

I think you are quite right when you state that you don't think Micro$oft understand the repercussions of their actions but I think it extends far beyond just audiophiles.

It just seems to me that in every aspect of what Micro$oft attempts where they rush head long in to developing this or that new idea that next to no one wants, they fail to see the carnage they leave in their wake.

But fair not, like the only other decent OS Micro$oft has ever made XP, I think Windows 7 will be yet another digital zombie lasting long after it is supposed to be dead and buried.

As for album covers for ripped C.D’s (who does that now a days anyway) using Windows 7, I rip with another program and then use MusicBee to edit the ripped files produced. While MusicBee has a bit of a steep learning curve, it is an excellent piece of software for playing and managing ones digital music collection.

First option:

Step 1: 

The first step is to open the link that I sent:

Step 2: when the link is opened you have to wait for it to load a few seconds. 

After that, it will show a page where a tab "Open comments center?" , then they say "open comment center"

Step 3: Wait for the application to load from W10 ...

After that, my suggestion should be opened, and when they see it, the number of votes will appear, and next to it, "vote for" appears in blue.
