fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com cannot access

Dear All,

I tried since several days to read in WMplayer new cd's, however I can't get Access to MS database at fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com.

Is there a lone down of Server?

I use Windows 7 Pro and could Access with no Trouble until 3 weeks ago.

Now tried again but failed.

I checked to reqch this Server though Office PC with Windows 10 and IE, but fail, too.

What went wrong so far?

Or does this Service has been discontinued?

    No kidding. Well, I finally took the bait and upgraded to 10 because enough things on 7 stopped functioning after an update I had blocked came in anyway. What a mistake!!

    In a cruel & ironic twist, the fai music service was one of the few things working when all was said and done. I am doubly screwed running Windows on a double boot Mac with Bootcamp. The Mac is the last 32 bit they made and can't be updated. The latest 10 build (1903 or 1909) does not work with the Bootcamp driver. I hate them all. Finally got my music working, but can't stop the BSOD long enough for it to accompany me on my journey into hell ...

    It wouldn't be quite so bad if Windows didn't regularly corrupt the media libraries (music in particular) and LOSE all the data they won't replace anymore. Satya Nadaella has done his best to destroy Microsoft's customer service. When Windows 7 is no longer usable I'll just move to Linux. I don't need these headaches anymore.

    CR@P! This was driving me nuts.  I couldn't figure out why my Windows 10 computer showed the info but not my ever-reliable Windows 8 could not.  I hate Microsoft.

    I just recently found a workaround for this.  The product "Express Rip CD" does a great job and looks up the CD information.  It's free from Cnet.

    They want you to buy Windows 10. There is no other valid reason. With Windows 10 the have even more access to your personal information so that they can sell it and make even more money. Sorry, but that is the world we live in. Might I suggest contacting your congress person or senator and filing a complaint. Hope they aren't democrat. Best of luck.

    Unfortunately, neither link works unless you are working on a Windows 10 device. Then again, it is totally in line with what seems to be Microsoft's most tried and true policy: if it works well and people like it, get rid of it!
