Switching out of S mode : Blank screen

Whenever I open the Microsoft store to switch out of S-mode. A Button reading "learn more" appears, however whenever I click this the store loads a completely blank gray screen, is there another option to switch out of S-mode, or is the link to the store broken?

    Successfully switched out of S Mode:

    My device is a Samsung Galaxy Book2

    These are the steps that I took:

    Perform a Factory Reset: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Get Started 

    Then select keep personal files or get rid of everything.  I chose to get rid of everything.  As soon as I was finished with getting through all the setup prompts after the reset, I went straight to switching out of S Mode.  Do not update anything yet, S Mode first.  Hopefully this will help some.   

     

    This worked for me after trying for 2 days straight! Thank you for the information!

    Hi,  I am having the same frustrating issue as everyone else, my brand new laptop purchased two days ago is stuck in S mode, I was able to manage an update to Version 1803 with windows updates but after that it was stuck.

    and it was very helpful in getting me to install version 1903 on the laptop.

    I followed his instructions, went here:

    choose the Download Tool Now option and then the Upgrade this PC option.

    Curiously, if you chose the Update Now button then 10S stops it from running.    How ironic that Microsoft won't let you upgade your Microsoft!!

    Congrats to the hopefully former Microsoft project manager that came up with the 10S concept. And to the Product Marketing team who conceived this moronic idea. I wonder if anyone of them was a former team member on the Vista team (remember that debacle?)

    However, whilst I got my laptop to the latest version of Windows 10 Home, sadly it is still in S mode and like everyone else, no matter how many times I try to go to Windows store, reset windows store, troubleshoot windows store, pray to God and sell my soul to satan, I still cannot get out of S mode.....

    Thanks to the poster who gave an update that a fix 'may' be available next week...….

    I had this same exact thing happen to me!  Same thought and all.  The first thing I tried to download was chrome and looking back I wish I had known about this BS S mode before hand so I could have taken the opportunity when I had it.

    Just bought my computer and I am having the same issue. I can't find anything else about it other than this thread. It is very annoying that I bought a computer and cant add what I want onto it. Please give us some kind of update and stop holding us hostage for an answer. Also don't reply with a list of updates I am sure we all tried that already!

    Same issue with an HP Laptop from Costco.  Unable to access the right page in the Microsoft Store to get my computer out of jail.
