KB4516065 Installation Fails with Error 80092004

This is the only patch that is getting an error at installation. I've tried update troubleshooter, standalone install and clearing Software Distribution folder without success. Are others having this issue?

Had the same problem. What fixed it was to download these two KBnnnnnn patches from the Windows Update Catalog.

KB4490628  (make sure this one gets installed successfully first)

KB4516065

    I have read through this thread and am still stuck on installation of this update.

    KBKB4490628 was already installed previously.

    KB4516065 is still failing install

    Windows 7 Pro user.

    Any further thoughts?

    Hello, this fix worked out the box for me. I had been tussling with a few machines that encountered this problem. Tried all kinds of fixes. The main difference with this fix was ensuring KB4490628 was installed first. Once I did that the other updates worked as intended.

    I discovered one that I only use occasionally  had not had any updates since 11/2017 even though it was set to update automatically.

    Unbelievable.

    Even more unbelievable: Windows Update had acquired this issue because it was set to update automatically. Between December 3rd and 6th, 2017. To be more exact it was Microsoft Update that had acquired it.

    1. The latest KB4474419 is enough.
    2. You don't need KB4516065.
    3. KB4531786 installed or offered indicates you're complete for this month.
