HI there,

I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.

It is not listed on the Device Manager list.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Stefano, I also have the same problem. I don't know how, but suddenly the camera and microphone are not working.

My laptop is HP x360 Convertible ab128tu. it has an integrated webcam which also includes microphone in it. around 2 weeks ago when I try to use it in zoom, it says there's no camera. and so is the microphone. i was kinda shocked.

After many attemps, I try your suggestion. It is indeed listed in the device manager as transparent after I click 'show hidden device'. I was glad that it worked.

I followed again your advice to 'uninstall device' so that it can get reinstalled after 'detect hardware change'.

but after I try to scan the change, it didn't do anything. the device is no longer listed and cannot get reinstalled automatically like you suggested somehow. Now I'm panicked.

What should I do in this situation?

Had same issue on our hp envy. It has a privacy switch on the side which disconnects the camera when turned off. Hence camera no longer listed on device manager.

So I did what you said and it uninstalled the camera, but now what, there is no option to re-install it.

    Hi there,

Ok so I got the Device Manager part to work - it showed it, I followed the steps, but the device didn't show up in the "manually install" part. Should I use the recommended part?

I downloaded the Envy Hardware Diagnostics tool - but not sure where the results will post on my system.

Sorry for all the questions - I'm supposed to be pretty good with computers... guess not.

    Hi Mark

Thanks for this - model number - HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ar0xxx

I tried to get the Device Manager part done - but when I open it from the Action button I don't have the legacy hardware option listed - just "help".
