HI there,

I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.

It is not listed on the Device Manager list.

Thanks for the help.

Mark, thank you for being a resource on here!

Having VERY similar issue on same laptop... HP Envy Windows 10.

I installed Skype on the laptop, and while it was installing, I think that's when I disconnected the WebCam.  I already tried restoring it back to the day prior to downloading Skype.

    Error Messages Below:

My issue/error message is saying that my device (name: HP Wide Vision HD Camera) ) is "disconnected" to the computer (Code 45).

1st screen shot:  Device Manager>Properties>"General" Tab

2nd screen shot:  Selecting "Camera" from the Windows Start Up Menu bar

    Hi try this 4 steps.

Step 1.Press Cortana’s Windows key + Q hotkey.Input the keyword ‘troubleshoot’ in the search box.Click Troubleshoot to open the Settings window as in the shot directly below.

Step 2.Open Cortana in Windows 10.Enter ‘camera settings’ in the search box.

Click Camera privacy settings to open the window in the snapshot directly below.

Step 3. Download the iobit driver boosted 7 and install it on your PC. Once installed, open it and start a scan. Once the scan is done, go for the update process. Once the update process is done, you can click scan once more as some new driver versions are not directly installed, they might need multiple layers until the right version is installed.

    Step 4.Reset your computer

Unfortunately I never got the cam to work again either or found the driver....see the other posts for what I ended up having to do....now back on the laptop and so far all going well.  It was definitely a faulty update that was never fixed...
