Your Phone app shows duplicate sent messages

My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

Windows 10 Pro 1903

Android Pie, standard, non-rooted ROM

    Hello,

    Try to reset Your Phone app and see if this resolves the issue. 

    1. Click on Start and select Settings.
    2. Click on Apps.
    3. Under Apps and Features, search for Your Phone app.
    4. Click on Your Phone and select Advanced Options.
    5. Under Apps Permission, make sure Background Apps is enabled.
    6. Scroll down and click on the Reset button.
    7. When asked for confirmation, click Yes.

    Just be sure you save any messages you want to another device before doing above steps, as they will all be wiped.

    Something i discovered... When i have my phone connected to my computer via USB 3.0 cable, messages have not yet been duplicating.

    Another thought may be worth investigating is whether Showing the Your Phone app on all Virtual Desktops causes this issue.

    Still getting duplicates w/ USB connection and one instance of Your Phone app open.

    Thanks for the input, but i use Textra and the dupes continue. I've also tried with Pulse and Google Messages... Same result.

    My only temp solution is using Tasker, I turn off text notifications when connected to my computer. Not sure why this prevents the dupes, but it works for me.

    Hi --

    While it's always good to review the official help page, I should note that there is no section on the help page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4459358/windows-10-your-phone-app-help) that says either "Why are some of my text messages missing?" or "I've tried everything, but I'm still stuck. What should I do?".

    I am having the same problem:  Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge running (standard, non-rooted) Android 8.0.0, all apps up-to-date; Windows 10 Pro (Version 1903, Build 18362.295). Some message sent via "Your Phone" are sent twice, while others aren't.

    Any help would be appreciated.
