Your Phone app shows duplicate sent messages

My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

Windows 10 Pro 1903

Android Pie, standard, non-rooted ROM

'Advisors', please don't ask me to run scannow or complete a repair install...thanks.

Not having issues with duplication with wifi turned on, on phone anymore.

Been running with wifi enabled on phone prettty much continuously for a week or better with no duplicates.

Definitely a work in progress. For a stretch there I could copy an image from computer and paste in to Your Phone app which was real nice bu that quit a while back. Now have to save as image then use the image insert icon at bottom to load image to Your Phone app.

It pastes an empty like carriage return on phone. I t does still copy test from say a website to Your Phone.

Latest issue for me is when I go out of Bluetooth range with phone and come back it can be a little flaky getting the phone and laptop to reconnect.

I'm in the MS Insider program and had downloaded a pre-release update to Win 10 and I'm pretty sure that corrupted my Bluetooth functionality on HP laptop. Had to update the HP  BIOS to get the Bluetooth back.

Same here, s20 ultra, W64 latest updates as of 5-10-20.

Worked fine for the first few weeks, now it's ****.  Duplicates, constant failures to send, then it does later.  As usual there really is no help to actually solve the problem from MS so I'm about to ditch it and go back to Pushbullet, which was flawless, quick and had more features.

Also the copy from my pc to the app doesn't work despite having it set to do that.

    Hi Geo,

Thanks for chiming in.  Although not everyone mentions the manufacturer of their mobile device (i.e., phone), it seems that the ones who do are all using Samsung.  If that's the case, then it seems reasonable to assume that it's something with Samsung's customized Android build.

But, right now, that doesn't really help anyone; all we can do is just work with it as best we can.

    Good luck!

DaveTheBatMan - no, it's not just Samsung devices [phones].  Mine does the same thing and I have an LG G5 Android phone.

+1. Same issue with an LG G7. Note that it doesn't happen all the time for me -- just sometimes. I haven't noticed a pattern as to what makes the duplications happen, though.

Interesting about the recipient.  I have definitely messaged the same people I had horrible duplicate issues with since I changed the backup & sync settings - no dupes.  So I can't corroborate your experience there.

Probably 75% of the people I text are on iPhones, so interacting with the iMessage platform.

At this point my only real wish is for support for RCS messages.  That would make this app very complete for my use.  I am messaging with a number of people on phones that support RCS, and they don't even show up on Your Phone.  I have to switch to viewing my phone screen on Your Phone, open the phones messaging app, and respond there.  I can still use my keyboard, but that's still a pain to have to do, and I've missed a few messages because of it.

I use that same method of accessing my phone screen to use a productivity app that is only available as a phone app, which saves me having to have my phone in my had for hours while doing that work.   Useful stuff.

    Jeff A.
