Your Phone app shows duplicate sent messages

My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

Windows 10 Pro 1903

Android Pie, standard, non-rooted ROM

    Tried refreshing the Your Phone Windows application and it DID NOT load messages I sent from phone earlier.

    In some ways it almost makes me wonder if it isn't tied to the Bluetooth link between phone and (in my case) laptop.

    But in some respects not.

    1. With WiFi OFF on phone, phone will mirror what I send from YOUR PHONE application. Text and image.
    2. With WiFi OFF on phone, if I send message from phone (5G), message or image NOT mirrored on YOUR PHONE application
    3. With WiFi OFF on phone, incoming message is on phone (as expected) and on YOUR PHONE application

    In all instances phone and laptop were within 1' of each other.

    Phone is paired to laptop vi Bluetooth

    Haven't tried. I'll check in morning.

    I turned off wifi on phone a couple of days ago as an experiment and saw that the duplication stopped immediately, other than when I did like some other responder and had enabled it but as soon as I turned off wifi dupes quit.

    I'll  check in morning and reply to this message what I observe.

    Thanks for letting us know of your success (and little bump in the road).

    You mention that -- with your (Samsung Note 9) phone's WiFi off -- a message sent from the phone doesn't automatically appear in the Your Phone app.  Does the Your Phone's Refresh function fix that, or is it permanently missing?

    I came to that solution myself a couple of days ago also.

    One thing to note, at least when I have WiFi off on Samsung Note 9 is that if I text someone FROM PHONE, even though phone & laptop may be 1' apart, I don't see the text I sent from phone mirrored on the the Your phone PC app but that is fine.

    Hey @ScottS21,

    Thanks for posting your results.  Over the weekend, I found something that seems to be significant: WiFi.

    When I enabled the mobile data option, I had my phone's WiFi turned off (which was just to be sure that I was, in fact, using mobile data).  And, boom, no dupes.  Yay!

    Two days ago, I had one duplicate appear, which really vexed me.  It vexed me until I realized that I'd kept my phone's WiFi off and -- at the time I had the duplicate -- I'd enabled my phone's WiFi.  I immediately turned it off, and haven't had any dupes, since.

    As a summary:

    (Since 03/17/2020) With the app set to "Sync over mobile data", I've had exactly one duplicate message sent, which was sent while I had my phone's WiFi enabled; with my phone's WiFi off, I haven't had any duplicates.
