When I try to access the Microsoft Store I get Error Code: 0x80131500     CV: 0H5MOZaq8Uye8k8W

I've tried wsreset.exe- no success

I've tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps - no success

I've tried to reset my region, language, and speech - no success

I've deleted the contents of the download directory and the datastore directory in c:\windows\softwaredistribution - no success

Ideas?

Before you go through all of the Ultra-Geeky hassle (and possibly dangerous) methods above, try checking your Internet Security settings as outlined below:

Possible Fix:

Search for "Internet Options"

Open the App

Select the "Advanced" Tab

Scroll to the Bottom of the List where you can see "Use SSL/TLS"

UN-Select SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

SELECT TLS 1.2 and (If Available) TLS 1.3

Click "Apply"

Click "OK"

Reboot Computer

YMMV

Good Luck!

The command prompt and powershell options are pointless when you are in S mode and windows store crashes thus preventing you from switching out of S mode. Only option is to reset the install.

    Yes,

These are the settings I changed to somewhere between Page 14 and Page 17 of this post.

This worked on the PC I was having trouble with.

As I checked my other four PC's they had these correct settings.  Not sure how, but this does work.  All the other recommendations to clear, reset the Microsoft Store Software and the things from Page 1 to 14 do not work.  These Internet Settings were mentioned by Bob.  So to those who are looking for the quick fix, try the changes noted above by Andra7T5:

1 - click on START and type "Internet Options"

2 - click on it and when a new windows will pop-up click on ADVANCED

3 - scroll down till the end

    4 - Unflag "Use SSL 3.0",  "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1"

5 - Flag "Use TLS 1.2", "Use TLS 1.3 (experimental)"

6 - click on APPLY and then close the window

I will add 7.  Reboot for the settings to take place then try to open Microsoft Store.

Do these changes first before you go crazy with the 1,000 others.

If this does not work go to Page 12 - 17 and check some additional items.  Then you can see lots of other posted stuff.
