I heard if I buy Minecraft java edition I get the Windows 10 version free is that right? I redeemed Minecraft java on minecraft.net but I didn't get a code of the Windows 10 version.

Is Minecraft for Windows 10 included with the purchase of Minecraft: Java Edition?

Players who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free by visiting their Mojang account. Log into account.mojang.com, and under the “My Games” heading you will find a button to claim your gift code. If you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition after October 19th, 2018, the button will not be there, so if you’re unsure of when you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition, that’s a good way to check. Pressing the button will generate a token and send you to a Microsoft redemption page.

If you have an older Minecraft account (you still log in with your username), visit this article to find out about account migration. Once you’ve migrated your account, you will be able to claim a code for Minecraft for Windows 10.

You must be signed into a Microsoft/Xbox Live account in order to redeem the code. Please note that you cannot move the license once the code has been redeemed. Your code is saved on your Mojang account page for future reference.

    I don't see this option, I bought Minecraft for £18 in 2017, I then bought it for £20 on the PS4 and £20 on the Xbox and also Story Mode and now they want £25 to upgrade the PC version I already have.  Do one Mojang, I'm out.

    Missed it by 6 days too. Bought the game in 2011. Absolutely shocking really, could easily automatically upgrade everyone who already bought the game but instead make you go through an arbitrary 'redemption' system. What a waste!

    I already have bought copies for 2 pc's, xbox(360 and multiple xones), ps3, ps4, vita, switch, mobile(androids and iphones). My wife and I have 3 kids and we are a family that plays together. My son is getting into pc gaming with me, so I thought this was a good idea. The reason for the post was the current card being sold on the shelf at walmart states that the windows 10 version (bedrock) was included with the purchase of the card at redemption so we went for the card instead of off the microsoft store in case he wanted to try mods out at some point. There is no disclaimer on the website that states it is no longer valid. Now I have a java version that we cant use to all play together and wasted that money since it cannot be returned. I got my windows 10 version free as my mojang account is from 2011. I appreciate the answer as it is obvious that's all I can do now, but how many times do I have to buy the same game? I literally have bought a copy on different devices at least 12 times now.
