Atapi.sys BSOD
I have been fighting this for a long time. My PC keeps BSOD on me at random times both while in use and not in use. The BSOD error states Driver IQRL Not Less or Equal and the offending file is atapi.sys. I have updated every driver I can access. I have run memtest86 and the RAM checks out ok. I have run multiple scans on all my HDs and they check out ok. This is driving me insane and I cannot figure out how to fix it. It ran stable all day yesterday with no problems and today I will not even boot properly. I am writing this in safe mode. Any assistance would be more than appreciated.

2018-12-10T15:16:40+00:00 For the DDR2 RAM please use Memtest86+ version 5.01.
Testing is not done by time but by passes.
The more the passes the better the testing conditions.
Just one error is a fail and testing can be aborted.
Then remove all RAM modules.
Re-seat one module at a time in the same DIMM for 8 or more passes to differentiate good from malfunctioning RAM.
Use a camera or smartphone camera to take pictures and post images in the thread using share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)
A substantial portion of the RAM testing can be performed overnight.
Testing the RAM also provides some information on the DIMM and the motherboard.

2018-12-10T14:38:06+00:00 Any idea what could, all of a sudden, cause a video driver to start misbehaving? The pc has been stable with this video card for years. I have always used nVidia.
I have 4 RAM modules, 4x2GB. They are all DDR2, which version of memtest should be used for that? I ran the latest version of memtest for 2 passes early in this process with no errors. I will re-run for more passes.
I don’t know if I will be able to swap out the video card. I can probably remove it and use the onboard graphics. I hope that is not it. I can’t afford another gpu right now and the integrated gpu is garbage.
Thanks for the help.

2018-12-09T22:50:13+00:00 - The logs displayed that there were new dump files that failed to post from 12/9/2018.
- There were mini and memory dumps that were debugged from 12/5 had displayed a recurrent misbehaving hardware driver:
Nvidia GPU dirvers: nvlddmkm.sys
- The Asus driver support ended with Windows 8.1
- All drivers are on a trial and error basis.
- How many RAM modules are there and are they DDR3 or DDR4?
- Run Memtest86+ version 5.01 if the RAM is DDR3 for 8 or more passes:
Run Memtest86 version 80 if the RAM is DDR4 for 8 or more passes:
Testing is not done by time but by passes.
The more the passes the better the testing conditions.
The computer has 8 GB RAM.
Testing time is approximately 1 - 2 hours / GB RAM
A substantial portion of the testing can be performed overnight.
Just one error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.
After completion of the RAM testing use a camera or smartphone camera to take a picture of the results and post an image into the thread using a share link (one drive, drop box, or google drive)
- See if you can find a friend, neighbor, relative, or local computer store to swap the Nvidia GPU card.
Make two tests.
Test a new card in the problematic computer.
Test the card from the problematic computer in another computer.
- The Asus specs displayed:
Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200
Max. shared memory: 512 MB
Supports DVI-D with HDCP compliant with max. resolution 2560x1600 (@ 60Hz dual-link)
Supports HDMI™ Technology with max. resolution up to 1920 x 1200 (1080P)@60Hz
Supports RGB with max. resolution 2048 x x1536 @85Hz
Hybrid CrossFireX™ Support (For Windows Vista or Windows 7)
Supports Microsoft® DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 2.0, Shader Model 4.1
Hardware Decode Acceleration for H.264,VC-1, and MPEG-2
Dual VGA output support:
RGB & DVI
RGB & HDMI
*Refer to www.amd.com for the Hybrid CrossFireX selected GPUs.
If you cannot easily find a swap see if it is possible to turn on the integrated graphics and remove the Nvidia GPU.
This setting may be in the BIOS or the AMD control panel
Then evaluate the computer for stability /instability without the GPU card.
