That sedlauncher.exe file is part of Windows 10 update KB4023057 for Windows 10 which is designed to improve the speed of Windows Update Service components in your machine

    Thanks for this.  It was scheduled for 6pm!  Why the heck do they schedule things like this to run when you are likely to be using the darned computer instead of at 3 in the morning?

    Better yet, why do they have things like this in the first place?  My computer just practically stopped responding when it started up!

    btw: "sedsvc" aka "Windows Remediation Service" may or may not be related to this (sedlauncher).  I disabled it and things are better ... for now.

    Just for complement my previous post we have a lot of customers having issues with Windows corruptions when their location (city) suffers thunder storms since not all of them have 'UPS' device; sometimes some users cannot wait for "Shutdown and Install updates" with their laptops (going to college for example). Laptops with battery (old) issues face must of time with unexpected shutdown and corruption.

    We spend a lot of time downloading the .ISO from the MS-VLSC website and then after install (35min for HD and 18min for SSD) whe spend more 01h installing updates, restart, install more update, another reboot... annoying loop.

    >>> Why MS doesn´t provide a full .ISO with lastest updates???

    * We are using WSUSOFFLINE tool to help-us to decrease that time spent.

    Looks like everything Microsoft bring out makes your computer work worst it just taking more ram or taxing your hard drive and the sad part is that you being force to take the updates as they call it. I wish companies would drop there prices on higher end computers and laptops so I can afford on that Microsoft and tax with there updates and I wouldn't feel it with my 6gb of ram and a quad core 2ghz processor
