Hi,

After installing October Update on Windows 10 volume control is not working (using Logitech Z Cinema speakers through USB).

Driver update, restart explorer, restart Windows Audio service didn't help.

Any suggestion ?

Thanks

    Hello every body,

I'm agree with you, it is a realy good audio system and I had the same problem like you.

After lot of installation and unstallation of drivers, I tried every thing which was possible. I finally manage to make it work fine. I simply brutally unpluged the power supply of the speakers when all was on. I plug it again and switch on with the telecommand and all was working fine. I turn off the computer and restart, all is going fine. Don't ask me how what happen but it works ! Maybe an internal reset.

I hope it will work for you too.

Sorry for my approximative english ;-)

Wow dude, thank you so much!

It sounded too ridiculous to be true, but it worked! Even after reboot everything works fine just like before the update!

I bet Logitech and Microsoft wouldn't have come up with this solution, haha.

Guess you saved us all a lot of money!

    Hi SeventSin & everyone,

Yes, everyone seems to love their Z system for its sound quality & does not want to junk it!

Since posting my comment I have contacted Logitech direct & sent them a link to this forum showing how many users are affected.

They responded quickly & asked me to carry out various tests & send them my PC system diagnostic files.

They replied asking me to update all connected drivers with latest versions: Z system, Motherboard chips drivers, Audio Drivers.

I did this to no avail: sound still stuck at one setting c. 45% max possible, & can mute, but nothing else!!!

I also tested the issue at their request on my new laptop--no difference, works, same volume problem of no variability.

I advised them yesterday of this result stating that I believe it to be Microsoft's fault because as previously stated it has worked fine for the last 10 years!.. through ALL the Window versions of: W7, W8/8.1, 10 original, 10S, W10 V1803 up to Oct 2018 v 1809 latest update where it now does NOT work. Hence, requested they tell MS it is MS's fault problem & MS should patch W10 v1809 to make it work again as it did in v1803, but hopefully that Logitech can also work with them to resolve the issue with either or both patching their s/w to cure the problem.

    >> everyone watch this space as I will update this post with any progress made. Hang in here!...
